Square Enix hat "Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent" angekündigt, das zumindest in Japan im Jahr 2019 für iOS und Android erscheinen wird. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Free-to-Play-Singleplayer-RPG, das in der Welt von Orsterra und einige Jahre vor "Octopath Traveler" angesiedelt ist. Ausserdem wurde bestätigt, dass "Octopath Traveler" auf der Switch weltweit über 1,5 Millionen Mal ausgeliefert und als Download verkauft wurde.
