SEGA Studios San Francisco, das Entwickler Team hinter "Iron Man" und "Golden Axe: Beast Rider", wird nun seine Tore schliessen. Dies bestätigte nun ein Repräsentant von SEGA.
SEGA gab dazu folgendes Statement ab:
"SEGA of America is sad to announce the closure of SEGA Studios San Francisco. It is an immensely talented studio and we wish all the best to all of the staff in all their future endeavors."
"Moving forward, SEGA will continue to pursue external development opportunities all over the world and will continue to grow the renowned SEGA brand."
SEGA klaufte das Studio im April 2006 zurück als der Entwickler noch Secret Level hiess.
Die Entwicklung von "Iron Man 2" wird von der Schliessung angeblich nicht betroffen sein. Das Veröffentlichungsdatum für Amerika bleibt der 4. Mai. High Voltage Software wird die Entwicklung der Wii Version übernehmen.
Development of Iron Man 2, the studio's latest title, will not be affected by this closing, a SEGA representative confirmed. The game is still set for release on May 4 in North America. High Voltage Software is heading up development of the Wii version.
